AI Component Library
Conversational components to streamline handoff and speed up implementation
Background
My team of 3 designers and I had distributed the work to revamp the old decision-tree help module into an AI chatbot. The conversational flows across the various touch points followed a common framework with shared guidelines for trust and error handling.
Problem
We quickly realized we were designing similar components that led to confusion for engineering, rework for us, and an inconsistent experience for the customer.
My Role
Designer & Project Manager
Defined goals and brainstormed approaches with my design team to divide and conquer
Set up tasks in Asana to kept us on track with regular check-ins
Coordinated share-outs with design systems and engineering teams to stay aligned
Solution
Figma library of reusable components aligned to both design systems in play
Conversational pattern library to ensure consistency in experience, tone & voice
Outcome
Single source of truth for designers and developers
Multiple scrum teams moved faster and delivered with more consistency
